Bicentennial National Trail

The Bicentennial National Trail is Australia's longest multi-purpose trekking route stretching more than 5000 kilometres through Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.

The trail works its way through the North Burnett region, commencing its journey at Kroombit Tops National Park north of Monto. It's one of the toughest parts of the trail with its rugged wilderness terrain.

It continues through rainforest and rare native fauna to Cania Dam and Cania Gorge National Park. Beyond Monto the terrain eases, following roads and tracks to Mount Perry, then through the Goodnight Scrub to the Burnett River. Shorter treks are more feasible in this section and an agreeable climate allows year-round enjoyment.

The trail continues past Paradise Dam and Degilbo to Biggenden and then on to Maryborough via the Golden Fleece camp and Broomfield.

Conditions and access details of the trail change regularly, so please contact the Trail organisers on 1300 138 724 who will provide you with more detailed information on planning your trek.
