Jones Weir

Jones Weir is located on the Burnett River at Mundubbera.

Built in 1951, the weir is stocked with Australian bass, barramundi and yellowbelly. Catfish, eel and spangled perch are also present.

It is a scenic site for bird watching and fishing. Platypus and ceratodus or lungfish may be spotted.

Apex Ski Area

The Apex Ski Area is located 4km from the Weir along Coonambula Road.  

It is a popular year round recreation facility. B

oating, fishing and water skiing all take place on the waters of Jones Weir. 

Facilities: Boat ramp, Jetty, Barbecue area and Toilets. Camping is prohibited.

This rest area is located on the Burnett Highway, 500m east of the Mundubbera turn-off. It has a sealed circular driveway and a few shade trees. At the rest area there is a lookout with some great views of the district. It is also the home of ‘The Black Stump’ a symbol of Mundubbera's location on the edge of the Outback. A plaque of the history of the Knobby Tree is also located in the park.

The park is also home to a Driver Reviver station, so if you are passing through this area during school holidays, or long weekends a free tea or coffee is available for you.

Facilities: Covered picnic tables, Barbecues,Toilets - wheelchair accessible, Water, Rubbish bins supplied, Children's playground. Dogs are OK. Suitable for all sized caravans. 20 hour camping area.
